Olivia's 15 month Pediatrician Well Visit

Olivia had her late 15 month well visit this week. Here are the results of the well visit:
Height: 32 inches (50-75th percentile)
Weight 21.3 (10-25th percentile)
Head circumference: 48 cm (90th percentile)

I don't believe much in these numbers, I can't see how they can get an accurate height measurement while the baby is wriggling and squirming (they always seem to measure along the hypotenuse, which drives me crazy.) This was confirmed for me this time when the nurse came back to measure the head a second time (her first measurement yielded a head circumference smaller than the last visit.) My friend tells me that her pediatrician doesn't even bother measuring height anymore (due to measurement errors.)

It was interesting that according to the scale, Olivia weighed less than she did at her last doctor visit. This is likely due to having an empty bladder, as well as having just had the flu last week.

Olivia is growing well, but apparently lagging in language and communication development. More on that in my next post.
